JOB DESCRIPTION

In this position, you will take a key role in WayCare’s data analytics core team in which you will be challenged to work across a variety of data sets and business needs and to address them by incorporating the latest big data technologies and best practices. To be successful you should have an internal drive to incorporate innovation through exploration, benchmarking, making recommendations, and implementing big data technologies for platforms and would need to develop data integrity algorithms using statistical and ML models. This will require you to work closely with internal and external stakeholders in an organized fashion. Strong problem-solving skills, proactivity, creativity, communication and organization skills will help you succeed in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance
  • Define, Design, develop, and operate highly-scalable, high-performance, low-cost, and accurate data pipelines in WayCare’s data processing platforms
  • Implement the latest best practices in data mining, processing, cleansing, integrity and data validation used for analysis
  • Keep up to date with big data technologies, evaluate and make decisions around the use of new or existing software products
  • Work with customers and partnering mobility companies to study, analyze and on-board various mobility data feeds

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience as a Big Data Engineer or Data Scientist
  • Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, MongoDB, Hive, Scala
  • Experience working in AWS or other Cloud Environments
  • Bachelor/Master degree in computer science, Engineering or relevant field; graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field is preferred
  • Proven experience in developing statistical or ML models in the fields of data integrity and data analytics
  • Experience in the automotive market – a plus
  • Versatile and able to manage multiple tasks concurrently
  • Quick learner, positive attitude, self-starter and highly self-motivated
